Recently got an OG 404 but I can't get it to power up. I took it apart and the boards look ok, nothing out of the ordinary. Anyone have any experience with this? Would this be an easy fix? Thanks

If it is not powering up from battery or jack, it is more than likely jacked up.

When the powercord is plugged in does only the mic light light up? If nothing happens between putting in batteries or jack besides for the mic light, the unit is dead from someone plugging in the wrong power supply. If it powers with batteries it is an easy fix.

There is no fuse on these. But there is a surface mount diode with three legs on one side and two on the other (the top one), located on the main board towards the top to the left of the blue cylinder thing. That is the protection diode, you can try replacing it, but it will more than likely just smoke because the machine is dead down the line.
Short of replacing that diode, unless you are versed in electronic repair the thing is dead.

Edit: if it powers up with batteries I will tell you how to fix the jack.

I couldn't get it to power up with batteries either. So I was looking on mpcstuff.com and the sell a motherboard for it. If I replace it, would that fix the power issue?

Yeah a new mother board would fix it. But for $200 from a machine that MPCStuff salvaged I wouldn't trust it.
I would take the unit apart and sell it for parts.
Does the mic light power on when you plug it in? Are you using a negative center 9v power supply?

No mic light on when I plug it in. I have an SX so I used that power supply but still nothing. I got this from a thrift store, they described it as no sound out put. Didn't mention anything about no power. I may reach out to mpcstuff and ask them some questions on that mother board.

Did you make any progress on your dead unit?
