Hi guys, new to the forums just got my SP not too long ago hope to be an active member on here in the coming days. However im faced with a question right now as to what is the "best" way to get some of my patches and sounds off of Absynth onto my SP. This created 2 questions for me. Some of the sounds in Absynth have their own effects, should I take the effects off and run the sounds through the SP's effects so that my sounds and samples kinda blend together more sound more homogenous? I was worried that if one sound used the reverb in Absynth and another one uses my SP reverb they might sound off. Also, as far as the actual transferring, I have a basic Focusrite scarlet Interface would running out of that and sampling it in to the SP work fine or should i try to like track it out in a daw, render it as a wav and then transfer it to the SP with Bankrobber? Which would you guys suggest/what is your preferred method when doing something similar? I dont have a laptop so I need all my sounds on the SP for live stuff. Thanks guys!

Really, everything you asked is workflow questions, you gotta find your own with in that regard.

People all have their personal preferences. As for effects of Absynth vs. SP effects, I don't see how the question should be asked as that's also personal preference. It all comes down to the sound you're looking for, so naturally, if you're doing something that doesn't sound like you want, try a different way.

I know that didn't really answer your questions, but hopefully it gives you a clue that almost everyone uses their gear differently. The only thing every single one of us does is sample something and then play the sample back at some point. :) Everything else in between is what defines the styles. So just do what leads you to the sound you're after.

Peace, man. Looking forward to your tracks.

never used absynth but i would keep those effects on while sampling into the sp. use the focusrite too if it makes things easier

I would see how it sounds to add SP effects to the sounds from absynth. As far as getting sounds in I personally sample into the rca jacks and load wav sounds from ableton using my SDHC card, depends on what end result I want or how lazy I feel at the time/

I never import samples.. I only input samples manually by routing the signal through rca jack

as far as vat/app goes, if you like how something sounds then sample it. If you like the effect on a plugin patch then go ahead and sample it.

Do whatever you want to do :-)

you're the boss
