man you can get such deep lo pass filtering with canceler, especially if you resample a couple times, seriously sounds amazing

i tried this for the first time today. i agree. low end theory ftw =D.

it seems to filter out everything but the deep end and then boosts it.
i sampled something and then chopped up the filtered bass

regarding what FX i dont really use too much...

-PITCH << can be okay to give a snare/hat a "boingy" sound

-OCTAVE << havnt used it

-CHROMATIC PS << twist knobs 1&2 while applying it to a long sounding sample.

-SUBSONIC
<< id rather just layer my kick with a synth i have more control of

-BPM LOOPER << i always use DJFX looper

If you can sing, octave is perfect for subsonic basslines. It not so much colors the sound but instead kind of mimics the frequency with a sine wave at lower octaves. so instead of sampling subsonic at different frequencies, you can literally 'sing' your basslines. You also have control over the ADSR; singing "ba ba ba" makes it more percussive and so on...

wow! thats amazing!!! but i think that You can get only one type of bass sound depending on Your voice. if You can change Your voice into completely different, You can get different "synth" but I can't do it that good. Melody is easy for me but I always get the same sounding bass.
