I guess I should call this less of an issue with the device, and more like ignorance on my part. I have searched over the web and can't find exactly what I need. Maybe i'm just not understanding.

I have an Sp-404(SX), and am struggling to find speakers with inputs in here in town. As of now i'm unable to hear any audio as they obviously don't have built in speakers. Now I know with some other music devices, headphones can be used to produce sound if lacking an amp or speakers.

I was just wondering if I could use headphones to generate sound, and if so exactly what kind I would need.

If not, does best buy or walmart carry the speakers I would need? There are so many I don't know exactly what to get.

I'm sorry for what I assume is a really obvious question to most people. I'm just really new to this.

Thanks.

The 404sx has a 1/4 inch headphone jack on the front. I use this if I'm working late at night etc.

ideally you need some speakers tho. Do you not have a hi-fi or something with an AUX input? Or maybe some PC speakers that you could plug in?

If you're in the market for buying some speakers, I would recommend getting some active ones. This means they have a built in amplifier. Check the link below for a list on Thomann of active monitors.

yeah get powered monitors or you need an amplifier for your hi-fi speakers. regular stereo speakers were not meant for music production but it can be done. i've seen 3" and 4" monitors in the music production section at best buy, or you could get an amp there for your hi-fi speakers. any headphones will also work but you shouldn't do all the production on headphones
