So the other day I found an old VCR and some tapes in my parents basement. I've been trying to sample from it but it seems one of the RCA audio channels is broken on the VCR so I can only get sound to record hard left or right, although the sample says it recorded in Stereo. Is there a way I can get the audio to come out of both speakers?
Thanks!

Try sampling in mono.

If not, get an rca converter to quarter inch jack and plug it in the mic input of the 404 :D

Are there three rca outs? (Left, right, video). If not the you are only getting mono sound. If there are three then bust the VCR open and look for a loose connection and resolder it if there is. If that fails, use a splitter to turn the mono channel into two.

there are two audio rca outs and two video rca one in and one out. dunno if i have the skills to fix a loose connection. alright got it. recording in mono works. I feel stupid. I guess I recorded in stereo before not realizing and couldn't turn off the stereo once it was sampled.
thanks guys
