i got a 303 recently and i love it, it's ill. one problem i have is that there's a universal pattern bpm and i record my patterns a bpm or two off from each other sometimes, then to record the patterns into the computer i have to manually adjust the bpm for each pattern before i record it. this also makes it impossible to play the patterns in real time without them going out of sync. do any of the other sps take care of this problem? or stretch the samples on the universal bpm without it getting ****d up? i may sell my mpc 500 and pick up a 404 or 505 or even a 555 if they fix this, otherwise i'm sticking to the 303.

505 and 606 can do what you're looking for. If you use an external sequencer you can get around the problem on the 202, 303, 404 and 555.

Have you tried the resample method yet?

It's a process of not using the sequencer but playing all your parts live layer by layer.

For example.

Start by playing a drum pattern, use the resample feature to get your live playing to a single pad. Play the drum loop and resample your melody over the drums. Now you will have a pad with just drums and a pad with drums and melody. Continue building up the layers to different pads until you have the basic track done.

That's a basic explanation, but there's been a ton of posts on the forums covering this. Hit up the search if you need more help.

you press resample and then you can play 4 mono or 2 stereo samples at once on the 303 (more on the 404) then add layers for more polyphony or whatever. i haven't figured out how to do a lead-in on the 303 which would be nice but i don't think it's even possible, so i loop the pattern and play on the second go-around, cut it off then mark to get the loop.
