hey, does anyone get this? when you resample on the 404, and you apply an effect, say isolator, it then whacks up the signal so it peaks on the resampled pad. I've tried messing about to stop this but can't work it out, does anyone know what i'm on about and if so do you know how to avoid this?

peace

maybe lower the volume of the sample before resampling it?

definitely remember this problem, although it seems i haven't had problems with it in a while because i had forgotten about it until now, don't know what changed, guess i was just boostin the shit outta my bass sounds in the past, thats usually where the problem is right?? you put isolator or EQ on a kick or a sample to boost the low end and it sounds just right and then you resample it and it clips, when it wasn't doin that at all while you were tweakin the sound to make it sound just right before resampling.......i didn't change anything with the settings on my 404, although at the time i was using some speakers that 'colored' up the low end quite a bit compared to my flat sounding boombox i mainly use now, but i guess i'm also just more conscious of how the effects on the 404 affect how things sound through my speakers and also how it sounds as a 'finished product' in a track

sorry i'm not more helpful, i'm sure some will suggest using the effects limiter though, and i would assume that that could help out, but i've never messed with it so i can't even tell you how to go about doin it, check the manual i guess

This is pretty wack. Always happens whilst boosting the bass on my kick. Tend to sample into ableton then sample back nowadays.

yeah man, i figured that could be a good way round it, nice one. Course sometimes it gives the sample a different flavour you weren't expecting which is cool but it'd be nice to have control over it

Ctrl knob 3 controls the volume of the resample. You can keep it from peaking that way.
