I am new to both the 404sx and sampling in general. I am using it for percussion and rhythm patterns for a live band situation. I play live bass and keys, I have a vocalist/guitarist, and another guitarist. I'll want to sample and use patterns we've already recorded with Toontracks EZDrummer in ProTools, as well as create sounds with the 404sx as well.

My questions are these:

1) For the already created tracks in EZDrummer, aside from making sure they are in WAV format, are there any other tricks or ideas for a smooth transition in importing, so that there are little or no problems live in accessing the tracks accurately.

2) Can I use my own created loops/tracks simultaneously with 404sx sounds?

3) What sample software line would you all recommend for really top notch drum samples (like real acoustic kit sounds and such). I'd love to use samples of an old Gretsch Jazz kit, or maybe a late 60s Ludwig or Slingerland.

For all these questions, I thank you all ahead of time for any direction you can offer, and many apologies for such softball questions.

Cheers!
