hey there. has anyone bought or built a travel case for the 404?

i was thinking of converting an atache case into a travel case for the unit (or maybe building something outta wood) with foam rubber and such, but thot i'd see if anyone else had done anything like this.

fots?

edit: i should say, i'm not thinking "flight case" here, i'm just talking about getting to and from gigs, practice spots, etc.

I use an old briefcase, one my dad used to take to work in the 80's. It's one of those with the three number combo-lock latch design. They're really thin, and you can use old laundry for padding if you don't want to get too technical with it. I actually transport my most of my non-turntable gear this way.

Oh man! There's nothing better than walking onstage with a briefcase! Uber-psuedo-professional.

One time I was riding the subways just after NYC started enforcing random bag searches. I was kind of a scruffy, grungey looking kid walking into the station with a beat up old briefcase. A cop stopped me and asked, "What you got in that briefcase, son?" I said, "Records." He goes "Rekkids? What kind of rekkids?" So I opened the case to show him and he was like, "Oh! Rekkids!" I was like, "Yeah, I'm a DJ." The other cop standing around just started laughing, it was all kind of fun. I guess they assumed I meant business documents by the term "records". They sent me on my way and told me to lay off the dope. I guess they know their DJs...

Unfortunately the "Patriot" Act says different, welcome to the emergence of the new global empire. Russia, China......you want a piece?, I didn't think so.
I seem to remember the judicial branch of the government being created to regulate government not citizens, oh yeah...checks and balances what a great idea, if it actually worked maybe we wouldn't be killing so many innocent people(U.S. troops included).

Yeah, it's scary how many people don't no how the patriot act takes away American civil liberties to fight "terrorism". For instance if there were a large chemical or biological attack citizens could be detained in stadiums and forcefully given an injection that may or may not have gone through clinical trials all while the government and pharmaceutical companies are not liable for any negative outcome. Lets not even get into the illegal wire taps and complete disclosure of information between local law enforcement and federal authorities which can be used to put anyone in jail at anytime and held even U.S. citizens can be held indefinitely without trial as a terrorist.

No, I was talking about Huph's experience with the cops, I wasn't try to hate on anyone I'm just very politically active here in the states and try to inform people of the things that are done our name without consent. P.S I like you case a lot, I don't do live shows or anything so a backpack handles my transit problems.

To be fair (I'm certainly no supporter of the Patriot Act), the cops didn't randomly stop me on the street and hassle me. The New York transit system has cops set up at some of the entrances of the stations and they'll sometimes ask to inspect large bags or packages. And they don't do much other than have you hold it open while they look in, they don't really investigate too much. Make sure it doesn't look like a bomb, I guess. You can refuse them, but you have to leave the station, and luckily they're usually set up outside of the turnstiles, so you won't lose your fare for leaving.

It's still pretty invasive, and stupid. Luckily I was in a good mood, otherwise it might have upset me a little more.
