In my ignorance all this time I've been thinking that the sp-202 and the 202 dr. sample were the same thing..now I realize that's not the case,& I got a dr. sample on layaway that I'll be getting in a few weeks. Is there anyone that can break down the basic capabilities of the original 202 (dr sample)? And does it have this same sound/filters as the sp-202 that everybody talks about so much?I do know the thing LOOKS fresh as hell though, lol, wish the 404 had a simmilar look to it.Anyway, any input would be appreciated, thanks a lot..peace

HOLY SHIT, they aernt the same thing. Man, i always thought they were the same too. My buddy had a dr. sample a long time ago and it was pretty cool. Had a Dr. Sample and a korg ms2000 synth, amazing combo for his weird synth hip hop.

A Dr Sample is a boss sampler. Both the SP 202 and SP 303 both have Dr Sample on the top of the cases. The DR202 ( Dr Rhythm 202 ) is the black and orange hiphop drum machine.

SO yes, a Dr Sample is a SP 202
