So my question is, can I copy a original sample from one pad, then have the copied pad get downgraded in quality? Or does the copy stay a copy? (You clone the sample, but if it was stereo, you can’t make it mono)??

It will remain stereo like the 303 and 404. Those units you can resample back to mono, so with the 202 you would have to bounce it out and sample it back in .

Less confusing and more direct answer: no, you can’t copy samples between pads on the 202, and there’s no internal resampling.
