Hi, anyone got a nice zshare link to something I can sample just for practice?

You know with this many MV cats on here, we might be able to do 1 vs. 1 or even a regular style beat battle for fun like with the SPs.

Let me know if you guys are interested, lol, all we need is a sample basically ahh, and some time of course.

Hahaha, now why didn't I think of that. ;)

Actually it's a pretty good idea, that sample is definitely not bad. Yup, seems I'll just do that.

Hey Phemox,

what are the rules for this? Or where can I read them at? Plus can we join since we have MVs

Hey Twitch,

Well, unfortunately the arena is SP gear only, no MVs allowed, but we could do a separate battle between us MVers, right?

Downside is here aren't thát many MVers yet, so it'll be like the early days of the SP battles.

The usual rules is SP only, so I take it when we'd do an MV battle, it'll be MV only. No DAW or computer editing, just in-the-box sampling and sequencing.

(For the SP only battles there have been some additional rules, like no timestretching/pitch and stuff like that because not every SP has the same features, but I'd encourage to take the MV to it's limit instead - after all the purpose of these battles isn't winning, but learning your gear even better.)

Most of the times you'll have to sample the drums from the sample as well, sometimes there's a drumloop sample with it.

If you're down for a practice battle, then just let me know. We can simply take the Battle41 or Battle42 sample, or if you have a good suggestion start with a brand new one.

My sample base is still rather limited, hence why I started this thread to ask for a nice sample. Peace.

Cool, I'm down.. since I'm new at this, why don't you choose which battle (41 or 42) we should take.. Like you said "after all the purpose of these battles isn't winning, but learning your gear even better" right..

I've already started making something with the samples from Battle41. It's a tough sample, but since it's just for practice anyways I have no problem with either.

Lets just do both (eventually) and see where it goes. The 42nd battle hasn't started yet, so no samples there yet. But lets just start with the sample from the 41th battle.

What's a reasonable deadline for you? One week from now?

sick
i reckon upload them in the Arena thread anyway, just make a note you used an MV. half the fun of battles is hearing how different folk approached the sample

soon there could be parallel battles, SP and MV

where's Olby at?
