Nothing comes to mind but I'd search around on archive.org they got all kinds of old shit. I got alot of cylinder recordings from the 40s off there that i've been diggin through. |

Try googling Irish drinking songs or music. I think this might be the sound you're searching for? |

had some friends who made their millions busking with this kind of stuff. i donno if it's obvious, but try searching for keywords like: shanties, reels, and traditionals. you could also go to groups like the pogues, and see who they covered. maybe lame suggestions. hope it helps. |

If you are looking for mandolins, Look up bill monroe. He was known as the Father Of The Mandolin. As for accordians, check out http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepage ... istory.htm There are a lot of good players on here.[/i] |

The Pogues were the first band that came to mind when I read this thread...great band! Beanz, Bill Monroe is the godfather of bluegrass. I was brought up on that stuff. Pops has got all his albums ![]() |
