It's good to use on the kicks but you can use to do basslines:

.... if i had that.... i would cry tears of joy.

Making basslines on the 505 is a hell of a lot harder than that.

Battle 41 hasn't started yet. Check back tomorrow, maybe Fauna has the next battle samples up then. :)

Sorry but i am not sure about the rules(and sorry for my bad English!)
I have the sp606 and because it's dificult for me to explain I will give you an example...:
I chop the drum loop

Can i resample my hits with effects and keep looping the new sample while playing other parts(not parts from the drum loop)?

The new loop sample ,can i resample it endlessly with different effects and chop it again?

While recording a sequence(without overdubbing) can i use different padbanks
or all the samples must be in the same padbank?(because you need some time to change padpank)

Finally(but I'm sure i will ask something else later!)
can i play the recorded sequence and play with the effects(just for using both hands on the fx section) or it must be realtime...

Ahhh, wait is the dbeam free to use it?!

thanks!I'll try to make my first beat here!be gentle..!

D-beam is not allowed. Everything else seems okey though. The amount of padbanks and such isn't thát much of an advantage, I don't know many people that use more than say 12 x 4 pads in one song anyways.

Resampling can be done as much as you want, but you can't resample patterns using EXTERNAL gear though.

Most people would do FX realtime OR resample them to a pad. It depends, but you don't have to do them realtime. What you described sounds a lot like what I did, make a song, then apply some delay FX later, perhaps with Isolator or such and do realtime tweaking whilst recording. I am pretty sure that is allowed.

fuck rules :D i would say the only rules are that you use whatever your roland SP sampler is capable of doing and for samples only the sounds provided. this can leave everybody's workflow pretty much in tact i think.

It would be nice but rules are rulez!

see thats the problem with the world...the rules rule over the people...should be the other way around.

if there were no rules, there would be no criminals

Hahaha, that's deep, but you're so right. Personally I think even MV versus SP battles really wouldn't be such an issue. Okey, perhaps a similar beat will take less effort on the MV, but in the end there's a bunch of things that matter far far more than the hardware we use.

It's why an MPC1000 beat can sound just like an SP-606 beat, despite the differences in hardware which are actually pretty huge. :)

can we use 2 sp samplers?
i used sp-505 for editing/fx everything and the sp-404 for passing the sound for live fx straight into my recorder.
thanx
