i had to choose between antee and crumbsucker...

antee sure knows his boombap and that beat is hella dope too but it was kinda refreshing to hear sth. new... so i voted crumbsucker, for the nice vibe and arrangement.

All tracks were cool, but I had to choose between Gis And Lone and went with Gis - the vibe worked for me (Although those are some badass wobbles Lone :)).

It was tough choice between Gis-Sweden, Antee and LoneStar but that LoneStar's bassline won for me at the end.
Cheers, Crumb

Comments on the competing songs:
Antee – Nice flow. I like the strings.
BlackSnow – I can feel the ghosts. Nice, you extended the drumset.
Crumbsucker – Well I felt for the crescendo part. So you get my wote.
LoneStar – OK I’m new to this and this forum, but as I see it this is still not the usual kind of beat? Am I wrong? Nice. Keep it coming! As you wrote “FX are your friend”. Indeed you used some FX

un T. - classic uncle T. boom bap - is it enough to win the battle?
Black Snow - I can hear progress in your beats man - couldnt it be even bigger?
Crumbsucker - Really nice addition of reverb to this track - you think Im loving them hats and timestretched bassline?
Gis - nice usage of phaser homie, classic kick - would I dance to it?
LoneStar - lo-fi parts! crazy "bass" parts too - maybe too crazy?

nah, Im just playing with those questions, all the beats are good enough to receive the votes, but the one that got me was this reverbed lullaby by CS. Really dope flip man, hope to hear more of such flips in the future battles too!

nice battle!

Im grinin' to this pic or should I not?
Well, It was first time I downloaded the samples for the battle
and right away I started searching for some melodic shit.
The main part was found on the very end of that song. My 555 was hooked on PC and I was recording some bits on different pads preety raw. I've made a mistake at the start as I set BPM's at 120, song was actually 60 BPM's. When I managed to chop them right I had only 6 usable samples + 1 kick and one snare.
That bass slide stab was made with pitchsift and subsonic I think.
The hardest part was to record in pattern mode without mistake...
It took me like 30 takes at least to get shit right from start to the end in one take, because samples were not choped so accurate to be able to loop them... Later when I got basic melody I added some kicks&snares + that bass slide.
At the end it was all recorded trough mixer with old Zoom 1201 on send FX bus trough BBE 462 sonic maximizer into PC on 16 bits.
...and that's about it.

I'd ask if someone is willing to provide samples for next battle
as I don't have any idea what to use.

Thanks for feelin' the track.

Crumb

Congrats crumbsucker! I was actually hard pressed to choose between yours and Gis'.

Gis, glad you liked mine. As for your question, I guess my track is only unusual in the context of this forum, which is mostly hiphop.

elhuana, yeah it definetely is too crazy... for a hiphop beat. Good that it isn't hiphop 8)

But offcoure man, i just need some rest, it's been nuts at work
this week...

Are there any rules about main sample and that break?
What is prefered? Voice is probably not desired...?
Willdo... Sat-Sunday... just need to wake up by myself, not by screaming MF clock.
