My vote goes to Phem. Really chilly beat. But I swear that if those beats were posted in regular sp battle, I wouldnt even suspect they were made with MVs ![]() |

I think there should be a combined battle for both SP's and MV's which allows them to use all functionality available on their respective machines. Musical preference is an odd thing so there's no knowing who would come up with the best - the most creative and relevent I guess. |

We could definitely do a MV vs. SP kind of battle. I'm still learning, so I am thinking that's why it's not very obvious that I am actaully using an MV. I also didn't go over the amount of voices an SP generally has and only used a few tracks. Perhaps 10 or so, but mainly just for the ease of tweaking / editing. I could have made the same beat with only 4 tracks for sure. Yeah, I don't think any of the differences between the various SPs have really made a huge difference. Basically all these samplers can more or less do the same thing. Thanks for the votes by the way, I appreciate it! I feel my beat needs a bit more thumping on the main drum parts, perhaps I should run another guitar multi FX over it. I think Twitch managed to incorporate the sample best though, really nicely done. I dig Olby's beat also, still think it's better than mine actually. ![]() |

I might as well add your beat as well. Is there anyone who disagrees? If not, then I'll just add yours as well. ![]() It's all for fun and practice anyways. |

Thanks for all the votes so far, I appreciate it! You're welcome Richiedinero. Contradicting as it might seem, I've added you to the poll as well now. I'm thinking it's not a problem since there weren't that many people in there anyways. By the way, since it's a tie at the moment, ideally we need some more people to vote. (Better not vote for me though, I'm really not that good at chosing samples to be honest. ![]() |

I'm looking forward to hearing what the MV is really capable of then ![]() |

Yeah, I'm thinking with the right amount of time invested, the MV is capable of doing a lot more then I am able to show. Because I'm still learning I easily get distracted and lose interest in messing with the same sample for hours on over to get things right.. you know. Ah, and then I did not use time-stretch, audio phrases / loops, pattern tracks and so on. Basically there's a bunch of somewhat more advanced things you can do with the MV, but it still comes down to how and íf you decide to use all that. :p Having said that though, expensive tools don't make excellent beats, good hours of practice and human input will.... eventually. hopefully. ![]() @Twitch: Yeah, there should be a few. I know Vivi Pedraglio and Mike Acosta own MVs. Then there are the people here posting their beats. Not sure about others tho. |
