Thanks, this was a tough battle sample I'll have to listen to the competition when I don't feel so weird from not sleeping so I could finish my beat. |

Fuana - Not so sure about the start but when it gets into the groove it really gets my head noddin. Count - I really like the snapiness of your samples and the the way you've put it together, not so sure about the flow for me though. Drewzle - Thats mental in places especially the little cat like meeow around 1:57. Thought maybe certain effects were a little over used. elhau - Nice bassline, I was thinking not enough going on in the middle but you pulled it straight out the bag for the ending. Euclid - Fcuk that was trippy as, the walls were melting whilst that was playing. IIIII - What can I say that I haven't already said about this one, loved it too bits all the way through. Flowed really nicely sounded smooth and mellow. Cool as bass line I am seriously loving it. Schmiddyy - Another trippy one ![]() Teewok - Like I said like the beat a lot but a bit like the count's I don't get the flow (I'm just an old git whose stuck in his ways ![]() Wax Inspektor - This one made it really hard to choose a winner IIIII was my favourite at this point. Really liked the whole mood of this one and the scratching was right there. Loved the beats and the claps. My kind of hip hop. This was a difficult sample and a tough decision. Gotta go with IIIII just because I felt it was a little more varied throughout the track, but it was a really tight call. Nice work all round guys and thanks again for the battle I've learnt a lot again and little by little I think I'm getting better. Roll on the next challenge ![]() |

Here's a run down of my favorite 5: Fauna - liked the atmospherics to kick it off, probably the tightest drumming out of all of them Count - Dug the off-kilter drum sound and thought the bass part underneath was really well done Euclid - Best use of the string samples.....liked the detuned sound/feel to it SteveC - Really good drum programming.....something i definitely wish i was beter at. Kind of electro feel. Wax - Reverby/chorus effect on the drums was sick, and scratching part was a nice surprise. Great job everyone, but I vote for Wax. |

Thanx for the feedback SteveC... I can't pick a clear winner yet... *next rotation* I made my joint on the road without a mp3 player or such and I didn't remember which FX I putted to the loop I used, so it was just impossible for me to get more chops I could have used. That scratching was really fun. My tables are already packed up, so this was a pretty funny way to satisfy my needs. ![]() ![]() * THANX SCHMIDDYY!!!! ![]() |

steveC - good pacing, good length, good piece. solid. teewok - crazy messed up intro - i esp. like it from about 1minute on - good vibe.. iiiii - like it. the hats are really great, as are the panned snare shots. the dubby horn blasts fill it out well. wax - couldn't access the file at first cuzza rapidshare D/L usage. finally got it. like the pacing, like the otherworldly drums and high-frequency 'scratching' types of sounds. pretty rugged. nice! elhau - i like the rework of the melody, especially toward the Big Ending (TM) schmiddyy - really like that rugged drum with the stuttering over top. like the muddy warmth. parts of this track made our cat very suspicious, her ears all freaking out in different directions. drewzle - wow, its fuggin loud! i like the dynamics - you've got some nice quiet bits to offset the loud and crazed lazer sounding stuff. retains the energy of the original, but doesn't really sound like the original. count sieracula - i love the little roll on the snare hits, and how the horn shots fit around this. nice. euclid - very chopped and screwed feeling. like the drunken-master type of arrangment for my money (note: there's no money involved) its schmiddyy for the win. even the cat says so. |
