Yo yo yo. Use an SP family unit if you can, but any small-format hardware machine is OK. To keep it old skool-style, external speed-type pitching is OK, as if it was off a record deck, but timestretch and pitch-shifting must be done in your main unit. Own bass is OK - synth, electric or stand-up. Otherwise, the only sound sources must be the samples; at least one thing from each of the 4 pots - there's about 7 mins of music stuff, 2 mins of vox, 1 min of breaks and 2 mins of noize/atmos. Deadline - midnight PT Sunday 13th April. Make something sparse, eerie, mean & moody...and breath-takingly beautiful. Selecta! https://app.box.com/s/2ui2gg74u6f63o70ee6mtc3hsl65anqg |

I don't even consider them a proper SP, lol. But they are an SP and it's the SP Forum, so one has to 'llow it. Not everyone has a mkII or wants to use an app. I'll be using an MS-1 and 303, par example. Some people only use a 202. So it keeps the playing field relatively flat and, as Runme-Raw said when setting their comp a few times back, it keeps people's ninja skills on point. "...sometimes, you've got to stick to the ancient ways...the old school ways...I know you understand me...". But, at the same time, whatever, init. Use fruity loops for all I care. Sorry, I meant STD, not HIV, referring to a previous Koala conflab. |
