Closing date is midnight PT next Sunday 23rd. As most will know, I usually like doing an anonymous round...but since everyone always seems to stop doing that if I go away ferabit and come back, just post your links below, lol. Voting will be Mon 24th - Tue 25th, so don't miss it!

THE TASK>>>

A selection of samples from some of the most classic-est beats and other well known sounds. Five of the most-sampled breaks.

The challenge... not to do a remake but to make a new classic out of the classics! FLIP, DETUNE, MANGLE, COLLAGE & FLIP!

Own bass allowed; external effects allowed and, for the benefit of non-MkII users, external pitching is allowed also (speed-type pitching only tho! NO software timestretch or pitch shifting!); acapellas for the fellas OK. My selecta!

To all the killers and the 100 dollar billers...

Where Eagles Dare

SP303 (w/ Korg NTS-1 custom 'TapeSlow' effect for pitching ont'way in) > Boss MicroBR

Why does the 303 always throw the tempo of a sample out and/or add a gap if you resample and then trim to the same tempo it was before?!?!

Used an SP-505
Made 7 patterns and strung into song
used Tape Delay on drums and manually tweaked Intensity and FX level throughout recording down to a Zoom H2N recorder.
Played drums manual on break
Took a long time to vibe w the samples- lots of resampling, chromatic pitch, etc. Tried many different things. I JUST discovered that there are in fact card banks on the 505 and I put in a 64MB card. There are no shortcuts to card banks on the front panel and now that I know I can use longer samples which I think will help enjoy the 505. Up till now these last few tracks have been limited to the few mins of sample time in internal memory!

If I had more time I'd add live bass- listening to it now would really add to the track. Maybe I will do it anyway only just thought of it now re reading the rules. Nice to see a few entries!
