Yes!! Hope you guys dig it, Steve Halpern is the man 8) . He is one of the founding fathers of New Age if I'm not mistaken, which IMO is a beautiful genre that's so dense with different elements to sample. Also the drums are from Drum Library Vol. 1, a vinyl I picked up a few months ago and recorded onto my Computer. There should be enough variety in the breaks there to find some stuff u like but while also restricting you enough to have to work with what you have. Hopefully you guys enjoy it and I'm exited to see what people come up with.

The openings track is amazing. I hope these cats don’t sleep on it. Great choice man, I look forward to hearing everyone’s submissions.

Took keys from the john and yoko tribute track
Pitched into 10 different notes on the 808 to make chords.
Chopped drums on the 808; played the drum chops live over keys, recorded as loop to 404sx.
Worked out some synth parts on op1 that fit the loop and added these to the 808 padbank.

Recorded the parts live thru 303 vinyl sim direct to DAW. Pretty sure i had the Clipping patch on the 808 before tracking out too... such a pleasing patch for a little saturation, eq and grit.
Compander and Normalise before upload.

Hey Boss can we mix other hardware with our SP's? or is it SP only? :)

Hey bro, I would say using other gear is cool as long as the SP plays a main role in the creation of the song, thats what matters. So no sequencing the entire track on external gear but yes to using external gear for added elements and flavor. Hope that makes sense. Huge fan of your work by the way G.

Of course man no problem at all :) I’m glad you dig it bro! I was exited to find this at my local vinyl spot. There’s actually some really good breaks in here. It’s crazy the guy that makes these has like 15 different drum break volumes available. I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Does anyone need an extension? I can push back the deadline by a day or to if needed. So far if I’m not mistaken we have one submission.
