Back in the battle
good samples ;)

for the beat: 404 -> tape -> 404
The sample is from Love on the sand (the guitar which is filtered/ believe it or not).
The vocal is an Iggy Azalea accapella.

Made one on the fly

https://soundcloud.com/user-853604300/q ... ze-spbb289

Used the guitar from the intro to Summer breeze track (05), some of the one shots from the drum bank, and recorded my fretless directly into SP 404sx (used markbass compressore pedal for the bass, to even the levels a bit).

@HELLOPILLOW wicked track man

Before I ask questions, I've gotta thank you for the sample. After listening to it a couple times I am starting to become enamored by the album.

But also, you can pitch inside the SP without it counting towards an external unit, right?

Sorry im new to the battles, just to clear this up does sequencing externally go against the rules? (i like to use my mpc to sequence everything) At any rate im nearly done i can play it on the 404 i just like to be lazy and use sequences (helps with tracking out too)

Normally it is against the rules BUT for this battle up to 2 external hardware units are allowed to be used however you wish. So go for it my friend!

This is kinda rough, but I don't have time to finish it. I just about passed on this challenge 2 or 3 times, but thought I'd share what I have.

I'll post where I got the sounds from when I get back form work.

https://soundcloud.com/rayscafe/289rough

EDIT: All the drums come from the drum samples, the guitar loop from ~13:00 in the album, strings from ~6:15 and ~22.26, and the bass notes are sampled from my bass, recorded into the DAW with no external processing

I uploaded a 2nd version because I'm indecisive and can't decide which one really sounds better. I don't expect it to count in the Battle because its over time anyways but if any of y'all feel like comparing the two and giving me feedback it'd be sick!
