Never posted "audio" before, so just stuck it in Bandcamp :)
- All vinyl ran thru Analog Heat - Here is all the sample material -

https://sharris.bandcamp.com/album/sp-2 ... le-samples

RULES:

A) 1st "track" are the drum breaks, must use drums from here.

B) 2nd - 4th "tracks" are songs, must use something from 1 of these songs.

C) Feel free to mix & match anything from sample material.

D) Must use sp to make beat. Multiple sp's are ok.
Bouncing is ok for us that only have 1 sp.

E) 3 minute long max beat length.

F) Can add instruments, like bassline, backing melody, whatever.

G) Can add vocals.

H) Mastering the beat is ok.

DEADLINE: Sunday, May 20th, which gives us 2 weekends.

I think that's it, any questions let me know.
Hopefully we can get a lot of entries!!!!!

P.S. I just realized posting other peoples songs in Bandcamp might not be ok. For now I'm leaving it as is...... I'll look thru the battles to see how others post audio & might update the above this weekend. Any suggestions let me know.

Box works pretty well. Doesn’t compress files (I believe) & still plays from ur phone. U can put all the samples in a folder & then link the folder.

Cool, thanks GhostBazz :)
I'll transfer the samples to dropbox this weekend.

Sp 404sx :

Scratching on Numark pt01 scratch (Aeon 7" Thunder cuts), I'm still learning to scratch, so it's not all that great. Plus I'm still waiting for Jesse Dean fader, this Numark's scratch switch is a fkn nightmare.

Also added a bass (with markbass tube compressore),a bit out of tune - but I left it nevertheless, kinda like the distress it creates.

Basic mastering on PC, but besides that - everything was recorded, chopped, resampled and produced on SP 404sx, which was an ordeal, took me about three hours to finish and drained me totally lol

You're still learning to scratch & usin Numark's pt01 with the stock fader switch thing? DAMN! I wouldn't have guessed that. Sounds really good!

Thanks Sharris. Well, I have it for about 8-9 months now, but I don't practice nearly as much as I should.
Say, two or three times a week, two hours set.
Thing is, I hooked TC electronics 'prophet' delay to pt01, so I mainly use it for weird noises, or just for looping small parts of the vinyl.
Occasionally I practice scratching
But this stock switch... I fkn hate it, good for basics, like transformer etc. but somehow you just reach a point where you've overgrown it, and just can't move forward no more.
So anyway, still waiting for a friend to bring me Jesse Dean's fader designed specifically for pt01 scratch ,then I'll tighten it up more

These are awesome samples btw, t'was hard to choose. Hats off

The samples - yea, I really like the material....I know it might seem like "easy" stuff to work with & I do love the difficult beat battles, just thought it could be fun... & I wanted to share.... so I could hear the fire you all would bring 8)
Like LoopmantrA & Teewok damn!
It's cool to hear how everyone flips the songs & uses the material in these battles.... you guys flipped the same song, but your beats sound completely different. Both dope

Fuckin amazing beats guys!
How I made the beat is in the description.
Didnt mean to copy Teewok with the lopass....
I played with it before I heard Teewoks beat & was
like shit, maybe I shouldnt use it, but I really
like how it sounds on the sample & I couldnt
come up with anything better

Post subject:  Re: SPBB #256

hello, what are the rules to enter a beatbattle concerning the drums?
do you have to chop up the breaks into kick/snare/hihat/claps & create a new pattern or do have to just loop one of the breaks?
is the difference in "difficulty" (and time spent) taken into consideration when the tracks are judged?

i'm a bit late to enter this one, but i'm might join in on one later, seems good fun.

btw dope samples!
