I'm about this beat battle life. ive been doing these sp battles for a while, and I just made an account on stonesthrow to do those. i'm waiting for the next battle to start on both and i'm wondering for these trying times if there is another forum where the battles are like these. I should probably use thiss time to do some of my own digging or work on cultivating a tape, but i'm hungry for a battle! I need a 3rd thing!

This place has turned into a ghost town. Crazy.

U could revive the Open Challenge or the Microwave battle.

I was definitely planning to thrown some samples up for the next microwave battle on sunday just to keep the timing right. I missed my chance earlier this week.

I'm new here and I hope it's just a holiday lull because it would be a shame for this board to turn into a full ghost town

I would guess holiday lull. There are definite tides of action in here. Usually builds to a bunch of simultaneous battles, then burns out for a bit. Let's start a microwave w a couple extra days!

http://www.battleflips.com/

Pretty well organised site with occasional prizes (vst's and stuff mostly). I'm not sure if winners pick the samples, I'm under the impression it's the site-owners and the samples tend to be all within a pretty narrow range (cool jazz, strings)

Ruby Quince, a radio dj, runs a beat battle through fb and a voating board and often compiles beats from Stones Throw, Art of Sampling, MPC forum and other beat-communities to play on the show. I've done a couple there and I know Green Dutch is up in there a lot too.

I'll be seeing you all in the next MWB this sunday/monday... i was too busy the week before xmas and plain forgot this week... drinking a lot of eggnog and bingewatching Luke Cage and Daredevil on Netflix instead of sampling
