Just had a browse of the sample packs and thought it was worth mentioning that the "chopped samples" pack in the Sonny Rollins comp. is a series of one-shots: each element of Roach's kit, tom rolls, snare hits, cymbals, hats etc... none too shabby... EDIT: Actually, they're chopped so short I'm not sure what good they really are... the cymbals esp. are really cut though could mbe be salvaged with an appropriate reverb patch so they can sustain... at least the drum solo they pulled them from is intact EDIT EDIT: (thinking aloud in public) |

Managed to piece this together in Audition by chopping samples from a rough draft recording I made, juggling some riffs, before the zip disk expired on the 808 and lost me any chance to jam it out live... that said, I'm pretty happy - managed to make a pretty-much new tune out of this Rollins track - link is HERE if you wanna check it out  Ten days left for Rollins-submissions, three on the Miles... a new one too "Brown Bag" by Boogaloo Joe Jones... get yr.
