If its ok with everyone, i'm throwing down the gauntlet for the sampletrak. Lets set the date for 10/8/13 . Simon and Garfunkel The Only Living Boy in New York... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJGSHMgbB0E see the attached file for drums and samples ![]()

I got this on wax. Can we sample off the record, rather than the YouTube link? |

I'd suggest that sampletrak needs to be the base machine. feel free to bounce to tape or whatever it is that you do. If you can find a break or something that you feel would work well, go for it...but i'd urge you to use discretion in using external resources...keep it sampletrak based. The goal here is to make good music and use the ST to its full potential. |

fun microwave using the seuencer and resample together made a 8 bar sequence then resampled it with differnt fx like the scratch for pitch, the volume/bass to do mutes, and then the low pass filter. http://www.mediafire.com/listen/teqvfybhx97kmtx/sampletrakbattle1.mp3 |

lodger wrote: wow. really cool and interesting take on that...how did you make the drone sound in the background? if you're asking for the "false synth" parts: 1)the first one on the very beginning is guitar>resampling lofi>extreme EQ many times>pitch scale combining 2 or 3 notes>resampling>resonance>pitch scale 2)the last one (the dirty mooghish224 ![]() ...basically all the sounds were more or less treated with a similar process:resampling+lofi+fx, because of the fact that in this case my workflow needed many sampling time so i abused of resampling/lofi technique; only exception for the drums (but they were "constructed" in a similar vein)... other thing: initially not lofi, the fact to treat sounds that way , made me change my workflow on the 224: sometimes i worked singular sounds on different "card parts" in order to gain sampling times;after finished parts, i then loaded those resampled parts in the main "card xx", where i built sequences...i never done that before and i think it's interesting to find other workflow than the usual ones... another one: to build those drums i patiently recorded some sequences with different quantizing, and also this i never tried before; it was interesting to combine samples with different tempos (timestretch technique) together in a more ordered way (while usually i record drums without quantize)... ps i used some mutitracking to add the mooghish224 and the noise/voc/delayed, because i found those sounds just today while the rest was built & recorded (live) yet beteween saturday and sunday... |
