Setting this up for admbmb since he's unable to.

Some crazy tracks in here - great work everyone... but only ONE can win!! The rest get coal!!!!

Thanks admbmb for the great samples and hope everyone is having a good holiday season.

It was between Tepaphone and Adambomb but I had go with Adam.

Good job all of you! :D

Wooooow! Just gave all the entries a listen again and am blown away. Everyone did something dope and unique, but I gotta give my vote to Adam. The intro was awesome, flip was nuts, homecooked bassline was delicious... top notch man.

Only listening to these for the first time. Totally missed the last to battles due to other commitments :D. Here's some thoughts on each beat.
Tapey: Listened to this once, wasn't feeling it, walked off, ate a sandwich, relistened & enjoyed it. Maybe it was the gated pads & loose chops that lost me the first time, once I understood what you were doing it clicked. Nice rhythm too.
Teewok: Surprisingly similar to what Tapey was doing, even if the results are pretty different. Don't know who made their beat first, but this one's clearly smoother. Very understated & pro sounding. Liking the way the melody progesses & the change up at 1:00 was awesome. The title is deep too.
RunMe Raw: Some nice little samples dropped in plus that hollow snare is killer. Again the change up cool, suitably fucked sounding. After the change up the drop in samples got a bit much & they kinda dominated/detracted from the core sample. Would be nice to hear you freak out on the core sample a little harder.
Tepaphone SP: First thing, this sounds LOUD. Sorry dude but I fucking hate the sound of chimes in music, you nearly lost me with that sample (grew up in the 90s when they were a feature in every shitty pop RNB ballad aimed at taking money from kids). The track has some nice bounce in the rhythm, some nice chops too, sounds like you had fun with it but the core sample looped like that got a little static, even if you did FX warp it a few times.
Admbmb: That intro! Again, great swing. Good touch with the choir, but again the core sample seems a little lost behind everything else.
Monstermanchild: Feeling a little skeptical over there? This was a little hard-gated for my liking right now. With something layered behind the staccato slices this could've gotten my vote.
Gis_Sweden: WTF. But then again, you're the one to make experimental & ambient drone stuff here... This one creeped me out a bit. There seemed to be some reversed background voices in it that just didn't sit quite right with me. That's a good thing too, ambient & drone music should make the audience react. Some more variation might've been nice but then again the whole track may not have been as effective with more variety...
Groktopus: Best song title of the battle. This one sounds functional- it does just what it should when it should. Nice to hear you use the melody as well. The wah wah effect gave the melody much needed movement. Again an understated beat grabbed my ears as well as my imagination. Good work!

Voted Teewok. Close 2nd & 3rd to Grok & Gis. Sorry to the rest, I just wanted to hear more melodies & less soundbites. Solo piano's a great source of melodic phrases but it seemed underutilised this time. Disclaimer- I haven't heard the original samples or read the the other thread so I don't know what was allowed or what came from the source. Thought I'd go into listening to this with clear ears. Also listened to the beats on my laptop's shitty speakers which can't play anything deep, apologies to any missed basslines. May the best dude win, bring on battle 128!

Sorry, should've guessed that the voices were in Swedish. Sorry for the arrogance that non-English words are English in reverse.

Swear that my laptop's speakers can turn the most simple & nice sounds into horror when the time's right.

I broke my assessments down to two words.
Tapey AKA Tape Mastah : GRITTY BRILLIANCE!
Teewok : DAMN BEAUTIFUL!
Runme Raw : SONIC MAGIC! + the image had me laughing..CLASSIC! Go ahead and light up the Christmas trees!
Tepaphone : MASTERFUL EXECUTION!
AdamBomb : RIGHTFUL REIGN!
A Messy Messiah : HAPPY MADNESS!
Gis Sweden : OTHERWORLDLY BEAUTY!
Groktopus : FULLY DUG!
Such a great battle... Very hard to choose....
I went with Teewok.
Since my beat was already late I kicked rhymes on it and now I'm going to search this documentary: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKfQRU5KKao for possible intro or outro material. If I don't find any, please don't be a smart ass and point out what I should have used. On second thought go ahead. The first clip I thought I'd like to sample came at 3:30 which is my birthday awesomely. "Funk was predestined with me." - George Clinton

Fuck some snow. Makes my internet wacky. Vote goes to tepaphone. I had to listen to most of these on a tablet and those drums stood out for me. I didn't hear any bad ones. It's amazing what you guys can come up with on these machines. SP masters take pity. Haha.

They were all still dope upon second listen. I went with admbmb 'cause it was so complete and well put together. Ornate like a Christmas ornament but of course any Christmas ornament would literally break itself if it tried to make such cool noises..

Guys...thanks for the votes and the kind words. So many good beats.

I thought I had a little more time to vote. My vote was for Teewok. The chops and evolution were dope and the drums and how it was mixed were top notch. He should get extra points for how ridiculously fast he had his submission in as well. A close second would be Runme_Raw...there is some serious creativity going on here that is talking to me. Can't wait to hear what you do next.

Teewok, out of respect for you, I'd like to designate you to pick the sample(s) for the next round. The only thing I would like to request is that once folks post their beat, they mention what machine they used and perhaps if they used resample method or pattern sequencer...or really any extra insight on how they did what they did.

I always use the resample method with the original SP-404. For 9 years now. I have to push the buttons pretty hard but somehow my first SP is still alive and chopping. I'll try to start explaining some of my methods, that's not a bad idea. Some of them are top secret though.
