Ok so far I just have the drum samples, song sample will come later today.

Drums are a mix of one hits at the beginning, a jazz break, then a jazz bass solo (well mostly, a little light drumming in it) at the end. have fun:

Song: "It's Out of my hands" by Soul Children - new to me, but I thought it was a good fit, too many choices so I just picked. Hope you guys like it.

Just a quick thought- since there's no music sample chosen yet- you could possiblly take the opportunity to make this an open battle...Maybe choose a genre (jazz,soul,rock,soundtrack,etc...) and anything goes-(sample wise that is,no external equipment).Idk,just an idea...either way I need to get my juices moving, ready to work on something. 8)

Cool - hope that song will inspire people, I liked the vibe and I think it will go well with the drum hits.

I'm all about starting an open battle though; can anyone just post a thread up for it? Do you guys usually just stick to SPs but make the samples wide open/stick to a theme, etc??

Speedy Teewok Gonzalez as usual!

I'm in on this. Quick query: I just got a 303 to complement my 404, is bouncing between two SP's allowable by the rules?

I would think no. The more the rules get bent, the more potential for folks to make beats on Ableton and try to pass it off as SP. Gotta keep it pure and limited.

No extra samples. Recorded right out from SP-404 into my little Dynasonic PDR-1. I recorded in mp3 format. Moved the mp3-file to a computer changed name and uploaded to box.net. End of story. Recording is easier than making a good beat… :)
