And by lack of professionalism I dont mean lack of quality, I mean lack of initiative for anybody to do anything on there own In the last battle for example Mellow posts the samples squa is the only one to fuck with it for at least a half a week I post my beat then some DUDEBRUX post a beat sounding very similiar to mine an hour later. Then everyone wants to talk about how they want to get a beat in and always push the deadlines back. Then on the other side we have cats complaining about lack of activity but pushing back deadlines themselves. I come up with some good suggestion and get blown off like Im the new kid on the block, whatever. Then this DUDEBRUX wins a battle and we havent heard from him to post the new samples. Seriously how long ago did the deadline end? We are sitting here with no samples. Really I dont need to fuck with this shit anymore as I got a whole nice new crate of records BUT there is something special here that draws me to it, im sure we all can relate. So im gonna take the power back and I will officialy post one of the sp battles only myself a week so we can get two of them going on. Then maybe others will wanna start to help out. STOP TROLLING!!!! If it doesnt apply let it fly if it does its... because. New samples up by the end of day peace people.
First off... it doesn't paint you in a positive light to accuse someone of biting on your beat. I listened to em and they don't really sound that similar. If they're are obvious parts of a song that sound good to chop, then of course more than one person is gonna hear that. The fact that dude posted his beat right after you means he was probably workin on it at the same time. Feeling like you should've gotten votes, and not getting any sucks.

Second... "some DUDEBRUX" or "this DUDEBRUX" is a relatively new member... and no one made it clear that the battle was over, and that dude won and was supposed to post the new samples.

I don't think you going all rogue on everyone and making your own little battles is the answer. And while you did call out one new member by name... you also indirectly called out a lot of cats who are in here on the regular, and do they're best to keep things moving in a positive direction.

Simmer down man... I think a lot of people are frustrated with the current situation. With a shit-ton of battles going on at the same time, you're not really gonna get anymore voting... just fewer people in each battle.

Wow, not sayin I should get any votes thats not the case Count all im saying is the beats sounded similiar and were both posted within a hour. Quite obvious the DUDEBRUX was already working on his beat to get it done within a hour. And regardless of being a new member you should at least know what you are getting yourself into, its called common courtesy. Im NOT going rogue on anyone Im putting up some music for the music lovers who felt what I typed and reached out saying they wanted a battle. Im just trying to help people not stagnate them by any means. Anybody who sees it this way is delusional. Like I would alienate myself for the fuck of it. Cool to see how you are quick to respond Count glad to see there is some activity. Hopefully you can get in on this one, I understand if your busy with getting the beatles mixtape done. Still hope to hear something peace and blessings. oh yeah its not about the votes never was never has been even tho they are much appreciated. Its about the music.

Word... alright then. Yeah, I think we're on the same page about things being stagnant in here. Hopefully that turns around soon.

by calling him "some DUDEBRUX" or "this DUDEBRUX" I wasnt trying to be a dick like you tried to quote me as being Count. there r tons of DUDEBRUX's in the world I got a few of them myself. Sorry "The DUDEBRUX" if I offended you in any way, our beats sounded similiar and were posted within a hour I also feel that your's was a more polished flip than mine. I like to do my shit raw one take no sequencer no quantize in the moment. And I know damn well that doesnt retrieve votes. And I dont care, just want music to chop.

10 entrys for an open challenge is pretty strong in my opinion..even 6 for the regular battle is dope. ive seen alot worse.. id say the battles have improved over the past year

no one person is responsible for the arena.. its up to us to post the beats

Oh...now i get why there's a battle 94 without 93's poll been closed. I haven't seen the second page of this thread until now. :o
Having a battle to get into at any given time is a good thing. But are we going to be able to keep the flow? :? I hope so, because waiting for new samples is really boring. :)

Im trying to digh through the current battles when im online and cast some votes from time to time, cuz yeah, the amount of people who vote is really a problem these days

peace

These battles are too quick for me so i'll just have to chill in the open challenge's for a bit.

Better be a whole week for the centenary throw-down though.

Yeah 2 battles a week has basically closed me out - I don't always have free time in the 2-3 day span of them. Trying to get in on this open challenge as well hopefully.

I like when we had 10-12 beats rather than 4 - 5. I see the battle ending today has no beats posted yet.

i'm with ya blavatsky. i put up a four day battle cuz that was the new way, but people may be overwhelmed right now. i did kinda like having a whole week to work on a battle. we need to figure out a way to do these battles so that they're more inclusive.

I'm slightly overwhelmed by the 4 day battles, I just got shit going on that makes it tough to make it happen. I'm still trying to handle them but sometimes I don't end up with a finished product so I just stay out. Like el I do my best to vote, but can't always make it.

Bare with us newbs when it comes to running battles, we gotta learn from experience.

Yo elhuana... good to hear from you man. I understand the beat-making vacation. Sometimes the tides of life change, and point you in other directions and on other journeys. It's good to have the SP to come back to though... and eventually, a beatmaker like yourself, will come back. And when you do, it's gonna reignite that spark, and shit will be good with the universe once again. 8)

I feel you guys on the super-short battles... let's find a happy medium. No 2 week long ones, but more time than just 4 or 5 days would be nice. I think a week to craft beats, and 3 days to vote is pretty good. When the voting period drags on is when it feels like we're all just reloading a page that still has the same number of votes for like 5 or 6 days.

i agree with you count, it's basically what was goin on before, except that the voting is shorter. i know endorshores wanted to get things movin again cuz it seemed a little slow in here, but maybe most people, myself included need a little more time to punch out a beat. i'm comfortable with a week, but i don't wanna step on any toes or boss the forum around.

Im cool with whatever the people want. I just wanted to get things moving it seemed to work. But I agree with u guys im kinda wearing myself out (ear fatigue is a mofo). I think what count said is good about maybe just shortening the poll time. It seems that all votes are in within three days anyways. If it fades into the sunset cool. In the future maybe if someone is feeling that we need to get something going on say something im sure someone will b down and then maybe someone can throw something up. Ive seen battles in the not to distant past that had two or three participants. Whatever is clever.

Hey guys, sorry if it seems I just popped up then disappeared straight away after winning the battle. I've been lurking on here for awhile now and always loved the positive attitude everyone seemed to have compared to other forums.

I'm pretty busy these days, I work 6 days a week, have two kids and i'm preparing shit for my wedding next month. I havent always got time to enter the battles but always check out the entries and vote whenever I can.

And EndorShores, i'm sorry if I offended you by posting up my beat that you thought sounded similar to yours, I can assure you that I hadn't heard yours before making mine, in my opinion they dont sound very similar at all but again, sorry if you were offended.

Anyway guys, lets get back to whats important, making beats! Looking forward to No 100, hopefully I will be able to contribute.
