Post subject:  Recording Longer samples?

Hey Folks.

Still pretty much a newb. I've been getting used to Loop capture for grabbing samples and then saving them to pads, later putting them into patterns.

However, there is a 12-15 second limit to the length of samples taken via Loop capture. I want perhaps several minute-long samples. I've been simply "playing" a loop from my DAW (fruity loops 5) while USB connected and hitting rec from Loop capture. How about getting full clips down?

Also, the only way to get tracks into the 555 is VIA the SOUNDCARD? Seems terrible if that is the case. I must be missing something.

Thanks for any help. This forum is reason enough to have a Roland over other samplers IMO.

peace.

Instead of using loop capture just use the sample record instead. Check the manual for exact button combo. I think its like sample + pad + sample = record. This will allow you to sample as much as you want until your CF card fills.

Yeah, THAT was s stupid question . . . Re-reading the manual helped confirm this. Simply record to a pad using 'Sampling' button. In lo-fi or stereo. Got it. And for transferring stuff from FL studio . . . you save it to a card via a CF-reader then insert into trip5 and bam you have it. Thanks.
