Whattup everybody. I'm new to the SP and sampling game. I got a few questions. What does everyone use to edit their samples and sounds? I'm sure there's all kinds of software out there, so let me know what different kinds there are. And... how and what do people use so that they mix songs with the SP 555 live and seamlessly. here's a link to show what i mean http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdvXeP8lT0I (what the hell is motion dive) lastly, i might sound like an idiot but how do you get the 555 to play samples and loops like an MPC without pressing the hold button each time. When i press the pads, it's just a quick one shot(depending how long i hold it for) instead of playing the whole loop or sample such as an MPC. this is a vid showing what i'm talking about... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=odzFh3IjvjI (he hits the buttons quickly and yet is able to keep the sample playing without holding the button down) as opposed to this guy who has to hold down each button in order to keep the sample going. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfs_qXXvADA i know this was a long post, i apologize, but i really hope people can help me... *keep in mind...I'M NEWWWW* hahaha |

When the GATE button is lit , you will have to hold down the button. If GATE is unlit it will play the whole sample with one touch.. I am pretty new to all this as well, the manual is important to read just to get a start but its been alot of trial and error for me so far. Practice is key. |

hahaha thanks guys, oddly enough i figured it out the same night i posted this topic. Just needed to mess with it a little bit. I've only had it for 3 days. And also, i didn't have the manual but i ended up downloading it online. I've gotten a little bit more used to everything. I guess I'll just try to get used to everything Anyways, thanks for the help I appreciate it to jaylost: word man, i'll probably hit up the battles soooon. to theweaz: yeah i agree. the manual is the way to go but i'd prefer to mess around with things physically and go through trial and error. thanks man. |

the manual's the way to go for all the SP's, but if you want more specific, or 'how-did-you-do-it' types of info, use the Search function on the forum. there's a LOT of info in here, and often stuff from a dif SP can cross over to others. that way you keep learning and everyone in the sp fam stays chill. peace. welcome! |
