Ok, this might be a stupid question but I am a newbie with the SP555. I don't have a compact flash card for it yet but I am wondering how to save a sample to a pad so that when I switch it off, the sample is still in the bank on that pad when powered up.

Save the samples to banks A or B those two are saved in onboard memory. You'll have to disable the write protection if you want to erase any factory samples, though.

if you are using the loop capture

press "save to pad"

if you are just talking about recording anything...

press (SAMPLING) press a desired pad

then press SAMPLING to start the sample and press SAMPLING again to end it.

then read the manual haha

haha..well thats the thing. The manual explains the sampling bit but it doesn't mention abt saving it to internal storage (not using a CF card).

You just hit save to pad, press a pad, and then save to pad again.
