Post subject:  Perfect Loops

hello heads...
i'm new here

got my sp555 1 week ago and LOVE it

but i would like to ask you...
What is the best software program for audio editing/judging perfect loops?

I use my sp555 only as a beat triggering device.
I make my music on my mac computer..blah blah..and i use a shit ancient copy of Peak audio editing prog.
basically..i render/mix down my pre-made beats..and send them to the sp for live use..while i play my synth...

I have no problems with the SP...and all is good...

But I am still having problems creating perfect loops on the laptop.
some of the beats eventually pull away from each other..because i did not cut them properly on the mac.

What is the best program for the job.?
is there one that actually tells you when you have it looped properly?
soundforge? audacity?
i will go get a copy...but just need recommendations

maybe a silly question..but i dunno.
i used the search function also but couldn't find any recommendations.

thanks in advance
you'll probably be seeing more of me here from now on.

In days back (1998) when I was messin' around with RAVE e-jay that was a loop based sequencer,
I was using small programm called sample calculator. It didn't do nothing else but calculating exact lenght of a sample.
When I set the correct lenght of a sample say:1,347 seconds for 132 BPM for 2 BARS it will loop perfectly if other samples are cut so precise as well.
I was using cool edit pro back than and I'm still using it now.

Note: 1,347 s for 132 BPM 2 bars is not correct... I just want to describe how precise the sample should be cut.

You're welcome man, all you needed was a push in the right direction...

For windows users here is the old BPM calculator...
it is from WIN95 days but it works in XP.
File is zip, inside that zip is selfextracting exe. No virus 100%
It will be on the server for a week or two.
