Right ive been making hip hop music for years now, at the moment, i been using the MPC 4000, but it seems to have taken all the fun outta it. Anyway i have just bought a 555, and loooking forward to getting it, anyway the question i want to ask is... I hear you can use the 555 as an audio interface? just wandered how far this goes? can i use other midi devices for timecode and stuff in cubase or sonar? |

The 555 can seamlessly integrated with any software through USB or midi out. So, yes, you can set up a time clock in Cubase |

It works pretty good as a soundcard. Even has a phantom powered mic pre so u can cut vocals to your computer thru it. |

question: if you do decide to use the sp-555 i/o via usb, can you use that in conjunction with another sound device on your pc? like having the sound go from the sp to the pc but still have an output on your soundcard working? |

that depends on your other soundcard and your software choice. |

Its works great as a audio interface! I did a track for this up and coming artist from brooklyn ny (Dirty DaMa) entirely on the sp-555 through the included sonar le. From beat creation (sounds came from an very old psr keyboard i had since a teenager) effects and of course vocals. The artist was shocked to see such a minimal setup. He thought I was using an mpc and protools!!?? After the session the data was tracked out to individual stems and sent to get mixed by Cooper Anderson (Kanye West, John Legend ) and mastered by Jim Cheadle (Dj Jazzy Jeff, Don Cornel). You can hear the track here: http://www.power1051fm.com/cc-common/ar ... art=126584 |

Yes this is sort of possible, but then you have to get your SP-555 working in a DAW I think. Windows doesn't support two audio devices as input / output (aka 'playback devices') at the same time, you need special software for that. |
