Hopefully, not both. In fact, I'd rather take the latter option.

BUT YO! This is some serious ishh. Ok, I've been really just using my 555 for the FX and occasionally messing around with random samples for DJing. But, lately I've been itching to make a REAL beat!... Anyways, I've had it for a WHILE now and this is the first time I've ever tried to mess with the pattern sequencer.

Basically, is this NORMAL...???:
When I press Pattern Select, all the pads on my Bank A start blinking...
And then when I hit any of the pads, they seem to start playing random ass patterns. Patterns that I didn't record. At least, I don't think??? Even the pads that shouldn't have any samples on them play a random pattern ...wtf?
Ok, next thing... I have a Compact Flash card in and I have samples loaded on my "C/G" and "D/H" Banks. But, when I hit pattern select and i try to go those banks none of them blink...??????
And when I press any of them, no sound comes out.

DUUUUUDE. what is going on. I want to bang out some beats finally and this happens all of a sudden. Am I screwed? And please PLEASE PLEASE if one of ya'll out there happen to know what the hell I'm doing wrong. Please* post a video of how/what I'm supposed to be doing this ish. That would be the best. If not, a really elaborate response would be good.

*ALSO, YES I WENT TO THE MANUAL AND UNFORTUNATELY IT DOESN'T HAVE TROUBLESHOOTING

AND YES I USED THE SEARCH ENGINE*

Idk guys. Please help me out in anyway. Thanks!

No panic!
You deleted factory samples but not factory preset-patterns. Those patterns are now triggering your samples that are on the same pads that were the ones that were used on preset patterns.
I'd suggest few more hours spent on reading the manual. No hard feelings yo.

Hahaha. Oh, man! And I thought I was in deep shit. Thanks for that.

ANd I looked into it more and realized I got confused when the maual said that once you press pattern select it will playback a pattern even after you take your finger off of it. Well, i forgot that pattern and sample are two completely different things and I was expecting to play samples once i pressed pattern select. BUT I HAVE TO RECORD A PATTERN FIRST.

ok but just to clarify...
1.Once you press pattern select no pad should light up unless theres a pattern already saved for it right?
2.You can save patterns to pads that already have samples saved on it and it doesn't affect the sample in any way
3.You can only make a pattern with the sounds saved on THAT bank only? (ex. you can't save a kick on bank A and, let's say a snare, on bank B and expect to be able to play those two together in a pattern?)

1: Yes.
2: Yes? - Patterns and samples are two different things: when you're in pattern mode each and every pad is a pattern, when you're not in pattern mode then each and every pad is a sample. Whenever you want to overdub a pattern that's already recorded/saved, you just go in like as if you would start recording a pattern from scratch - if you max out the polyphony then strange things happen.

Ok, so I can make patterns and then overdub over those patterns as long as I don't max the polyphony. I think I got it. But, in order to overdub in the first place
the order of things would go:

1.Pattern Select
2.Press Pad (Hypothetically, we've already recorded a pattern)
3.It starts playing.
4.I can either bang on the pads just to mess around being in "Rehearse" mode
Or
I can press Sample and just record over that pattern?

Is that what you meant? Overdub

BTW, thanks guys for all your help. I hope people in the future see this post.
