Question - if a card is not compatible, does it mean that the computer won't see it? i picked up a "recognized" card from Sweetwater, and the computer doesn't see the card at all -- have reinstalled the driver, etc.

I guess my question is if a card is not compatible, how do you know? and would it impact the computer's ability to see that as a drive if it's not compatible?

Thanks,

Moosh

i sort of got what you were saying.

I was able to format the compact flash card. it happened very quickly. i was able to write a loop to it also... but again, my computer cannot see it. is it supposed to see it as a separate drive? or just through the wave converter?

It should also find it as separate drive I think, ooh wait with the SP-555 you will have to use a card reader.

I called Roland and found out I needed a card reader, and that the 555 can't connect to the PC and show it's CF card as a drive.... Lame. But oh well...

Hi folks :D

I was astonished that the SP-555 didn´t could connect and import samples direct via USB as my SP-606 can...but the wavemanager that comes with the SP-555 is a good tool to assign samples....though the CF Card is needed to go in and out a lot in the slots

I anyway like the SP-555 a lot, it is a neat little sampler....
