Try Reaper of Zinewave Podium. Reaper is trial software that never expires, just a nag screen. Podium has a single core free version. I would recommend buying a decent audio interface as inbuilt sound cards are crap ![]() |

Fluentt wrote: whenever I try to record it's all fuzzy and sounds odd Ha! Some producers who record digitally devote hours to try and get that type of beatup sound. But really, Audacity is a dope program, and being that it's free is even better. There's tons you can do with it. Check out an abundance of different tips/tutorials for it on YouTube. You may just need to mess with the configuration and preferences. Or, as said in previous post, it could be a sound card issue, and an audio interface would help with quality. |

It depends on how much your wanting to pay and what you're going to record. You can get pretty cheap interfaces with just rca inputs, if you're looking to just record your 404. Alternatively, you can get interfaces with XLR (microphone) inputs, which are normally better quality, but will still have 1/4 inch jacks for you to plug your 404 in (via an rca to 1/4 inch jack converter) http://www.thomann.de/gb/cat.html?gf=us ... ces&oa=pra Here's a list from Thomann in price order. The Miditech and Behringer ones are cheap and cheerful for just plugging in your SP. If you want more options, you'll have to go to page 2 and 3 and maybe look at the Tascam's or M-audio. If you need any more help, just let me know. I have a Tascam us-1641. It's quite a beast with 8 xlr inputs and another 6 line inputs at 1/4 inch. |
