hey all,

i got my DR-202 used, obvs. when i set the instrument to be FX'd (bass, k, s, hh, etc.), it works for my resonance and filter, but not for my delay and reverb.

the delay and reverb just get applied to 'all.'

i was wondering if this is a glitch in my unit, or if there's some deeper FX-set screen i couldn't find that changes this.

didn't see anyfing in the manual about it. any thots?

thx duuuudes.

i sold mine right, but...
there are lots of parameters like pan and pitch that you can alter. I thought reverb was in that list but not sure.

so I just checked my manual: go to a user spot. select pad, then instrument. after that you can use the kit button i think.
just mess with it, until you get it.

JBL / Ella: i appreciate the feedback. i'll check it out o'er the break...i figgered the parameters are buried in there somewhere.

thx dudes. will let you know the progress!

back from vacations.
to control the delay/reverb and the flanger too for every single intruments you have to go to "kit" (hit kit button) and then scroll every pages, at last you will find those parameters for the fx.
hope this helps, let me know.

hey ella - thanx for following up.

i'm PRETTY SURE this is what i did (hit kit, turn knob to hi-hats, adjust reverb or delay parameters) but it still adds the effect to all instruments.

i'll mess around with it again, but i'm pretty sure it just adds the effects to every instrument, whereas the filter and resonance can still be directed to each instrument. so i think it is a problem with my 202.

i'll try it again in the coming days and see if i can figger it out. thx again mans.

i retried it.
it works on mine.
also, the cutoff/resonance/decay parameters work. do the filters parameters "corrections" work on your dr202?
maybe it exist some sort of "software way" in the boss site (upgrade etc)?
or
from youtube:

"You can try restoring to factory settings:

1.power on while holding "mute" and "roll"

2.use value dial to select "all"

3.press"tap/enter" twice

otherwise it's hard to say, I never had this problem."

Post subject:  Re: DR. 202 FX Q

so after some testing, i think the upshot is that my 202 can't apply reverb, delay or flange effects to individual instruments.

ella's tip: "to control the delay/reverb and the flanger too for every single intruments you have to go to "kit" (hit kit button) and then scroll every pages, at last you will find those parameters for the fx."

that ^^ works to change the amount of fx send. so if i want to have somefing with just reverb on the closed hh, i can do it (by turning all other instruments' send down to 0).

but turning the REV/DEL & Flanger dials will still effect all instruments, no matter which inst. is chosen with the 'select' knob. i've tried rebooting and all that. no change.

again, it seems weird that the reso and filter can be applied to each instrument, but the other effect fings can't.

whatever. it is actually a glitch that i can deal with, and doesn't feel like a big deal. just a lil odd. and the reso / filter can be individual, so that's cool.

thanx again for yr help JBL & ella. much appreciated!

now back to making beats!

I just picked up a Dr. 202 from ebay. Not messed with it too much yet but I seem to be having the same problem with mine too.
