I have a Volca FM as well. But it’s not the best either for FM. I wish the DX200 could download DX7 patches as easy as Volca Fm did. But you can only get so many in. It’s a keeper though.

Not luckely i bought it in april, used just 5/6 times for few moments; now after some months i'm seeing today that it doesn't turn on; i' ve tried the same adapter (9v, 500ma) for the Volca Modular and it works on it, so i believe that the problem is on the Volca Fm. I've tried batteries and the Fm turns on.
Have you expérienced something like that?

What you both really need is a Korg OPSIX, there's no better hardware FM synth out there

Regards the problem you're having, since it still works on batteies it sounds as if you might have a broken solder joint on the power jack. To fix it, maybe just open it up and re-heat the solder joints connecting the power jack.

I'm quite happy with Reface CS. Looper is kind of useless, but the VA synth engine is superb.
This bad guy came tomorrow...

Devo used to rock those. They’re a bit novelty, but they can be fun.

So jealous of this!

I had a modified omnichord a while back, had to sell when I was strapped for cash, but damn it was fun:

Just for info:
No luck with this...
rhythm and accomplainment is driven by ay-5-1315 chip, wich has integrated oscillator (controlled by potentiometer), osc clock is feeded back to chip. Thus for getting a clock out of it I'd have to take osc clock, feed it somewhere else, divide to clock and feed original clock back to a chip. Too complicated for me now. I can get triggers for individual sounds, but there's no reason to trigger anything else with it, so...

Roland had like 4 new ones of those awhile back. But it’d only be a real use to a drummer or conga player.

It's mostly usable as an extension to drummachine, e.g. TR606 (which lacks hand clap, but has 2 programmable trigger outputs).
But I also use it in conjunction with nord drum1 as a second snare (hand clap...) with external trigger pad...
But yeah, it's a one-trick pony.

Nothing wrong with one trick pony gear. It's like being in a box. But if you can use it in a way to think outside that box, then it's satisfying. Pocket Operators are limited, but if you sample them, and add effects, you can get great samples.

So these have been off the market lately. I looked on eBay, Perfect Circuit, Reverb, and FINALLY one popped up. I picked it up because I wanted a 3rd oscillator for my Crave. Without a Envelope it’s just a constant saw, square or triangle wave. Without a filter, you can’t shape it much. Without a VCA, you can’t amplify it. That’s why The Crave covered most of those for me, but only had the 2 waveforms. The pedal has 3, so it should thicken my signals. It’s coming in from Austin Texas, so I can’t wait to mess with it.

MyXR20 supposed to be picked up, but I guess my roommate wasn’t allowed to pick it up for me. (I had to work today), and if I work late tomorrow I can’t get it until Wednesday.
