new s20 user here with a couple of questions......

i see it is possible to load s950 samples into the s20 - however when i try it, all it ever does is load the same single sample each time - so say my s950 floppy has 10 samples - how do i get the s20 to load each sample onto 10 pads

secondly does anyone know if there is some type of app to create s20 floppy images - eg you have 10 wavs and want to add them to a disk image, so you can load it into your s20 - ie putting wav samples into s20 without sampling.....i am aware of transfer via midi but would prefer just a lil app which oyu add wavs to and it converts it into a disk image for the s20

thank you for your help! tips!

I've never owned a S950, but I don't think it was ever intended to be backwards compatible with the S20. I think it wasn't what Akai wanted to do at the time.

no one using s20 in conjunction with s900/S950?

from manual

2. Put a floppy disk into the S20's disk drive.
3. Select LOAD in the Edit Matrix using cursor keys (by positioning the row LED light at right most DISK
and the column LED light at the top).
4. Press REC
5. Select the data to load by pressing [+][-].

5 9 1 Sample data for the S900/950 sampler.

Now I might have to look for a old Akai rack sampler one of these days.

Definitely go for a rack instead of the s20 just be sure you go for the rack that has the sound and features you are after.
