It's a lovely machine, but I don't have much use for it right now, at least for my line of work. |

I've always wanted to use an mc-808, probably something about it's motorized faders and the fact that it looks like a ghetto blaster straight out the 80's. |

Personally I think the 808 is the weakest of the MC's.... If you don't make hip-hop ![]() The 909 is by far the best, followed by the 505, the 307 and the 303. 808 is last simply becuase it's not as hands-on as the other MCs... That's just my opinion though - if you love it then enjoy it....plus there's honestly no way I'd say no to one if it was offered to me! The 808 is probably more suited to hip-hop than any of the others (which are all squarely aimed at techno-heads ![]() |

I think they would all be fun to use, but when it comes down to it the new sp-555 would be the only upgrade I need for the music I like to make. ![]() |

The way the loop capture works in the 555, I think ANY musician would benefit from having one; even an acoustic guitarist ![]() The MC's, even the ones with sampling ability, are much more about synthetic sounds than samples... the hoovers my 505 makes are amaaaaazing ![]() |

the MC-303 is a difficult beast, and apart from some synth bass sounds, would be pretty useless to a traditional hip-hop style producer. the one i am using at the moment has gone senile - it grabs any MIDI sent through it and refuses to pass it on - what a MIDI pig! it has only developed this lately (i've been through every setting and it hasn't changed), and it is a very old machine. so, anyone who is after a 2nd hand MC-303 (and i see them for sale on ebay/in pawn shops quite regularly), have a play around with it first. |

This is true of any MC. They go 'bad' after a few years use/abuse. Having said that, Roland still support all of them, and still have all the parts for them. They don't cost much to repair (I think the technicians get a lot of practice ![]() |

No es bueno. I was thinking about buying another 303 new just in case they stop making them with all this new sp stuff coming out, I don't buy used machines after seeing how some of my friends treat their sampler's, I don't want to spend money then have to Mcguyver some shit. |

have a good play around with it before buying, these machines have a habit of 'going nuts'. see above |

Well, maybe the mc-808 WON'T go nuts... I currently have the option of buying either a mc-505 ($200) to go with my sp-606, or a mc-808 ($480) to go with the sp-606... there are a lot more youtube vidz with the 808...so I am assuming it is a more popular machine...or it's just better... |
