I'm about to pick one up 2morrow... Not feeling the looks of the pt01... Is there a sound quality diff between the 2? (not talking about the built-in speakers)

The usb feature on the pt-01usb is nice, I have a Vestax though and I like it for what it needs to do which is help sniff out vinyl.

I dont think there is any noticable sound quality difference between those two.
Vestax's looks is much better so If you have enough cash, go get it!

The handy trax and pt-01 can use a wall adapter or batteries for power. The sound quality should be the same on both machines I just like the look of the vestax and found one new for $98 on amazon.com.

word. respect for the replies... i getting one brand new for 115... just sold off my table and i'll be using the vestax for sampling now... i hope it works out for me and i don't get annoyed at the quality of sound compared to my old table.... euclid can u speak on that? will it sound like shit or can i make sum dope beats.

i like it cuz its small and it'll fit on my table nicely... i also sample my drums off computer so i wont be losing any quality there... and drums i feel need to sound the nicest of all

Yo that CM-02 is crazy. $500 dang.
You know what they say with samplers- doodoo in doodoo out.
The Handytrax is fine for grabbing samples. A lot of things people don't do is: Clean the record with a soft cloth & some water if it's filthy, and keep good care of the needle when you use it. I wouldn't scratch with it.
You have a line level out so no need to go through a mixer- just str8 to SP.
Happy digging!

Handcancel pretty much said it all, the quality is fine for sampling and getting a line level signal is great. I've scratched on it for a little but I used a crappy old $1 bin record and I wouldn't recommend it unless you plan on replacing the needle all the time and killing the grooves on your wax. There's a warning in the box that tells you not to scratch with it so of course I had to try it since I like to try anything I told I shouldn't do.

Thanks man... well somewhat worked out... the sound is kinda dull...especially in mono... but ive noticed that it sounds a lot better using the "enhancer" effect when sampling so I'm gonna try that for the next beat
