i just got new turntables and want to get a new mixer, this thing looks sick with the effects and the midi out as far as syncing up my hardware, if that works good it would be sick , but ive read mixed reviews on the sites that sell them... i put little faith in those reviews and thusly reach out to the glorious sp forums..

anybody have one, used one, know about a guy who used one?

i had one, now i have a dj1000.

i liked the 2000 better for some reason. the effects were better and it just seemed a little better made. that being said; i wouldn't use it live for several reasons:

1. it's heavy.
2. it's noisy. the effects, eq, line toggle switches tend to bleed a pop or something like that.
3. the sound is fine but can be almost unnoticeably grainy.
4. the midi is less useful that you might think. it works fine, for what it does, just rather useless in the long run.

it's cool if you can get get it cheap for around the lab. i wouldn't sell my dj1000, but probably wouldn't replace it if it broke either.

that said, the eq is good and the effects (on the 2000) are nice. finally it's fun to use.

If you're gonna be cuttin the vinyl you might want a 2 channel, or at least one with a slimmer profile to make it easier to go between decks.

yeah i would be using it mostly for djing but i thought it could be an upgrade to incorporating my beat making gear into the dj set, right now i just run the sp through the mixer and use it for one shots and add music with the kaosillator live looping, so thanks for all the responses... its too bad this isnt that sick for live use, esp. with the clicking and grain mentioned, cuz the size sucks but i would deal with that if it was the only problem..

anybody can recomend a good 2-300 dollar mixer with effects?

I bought one when they first came out, but I had to sell it to my ex roommate a few months later. I’m sorta considering getting another one, but I won’t be getting anything until the fall right now. 3 samplers is already on my plate, but having this again would be full circle.

I always wanted one and bought one on ebay last year for $200.
I use my DJ2000 more than my Denon DN-MC6000 mixer. I prefer analog mixers so I still have a Radio Shack Realistic 32-1200C mixer.

Hey, I misunderstood you at first.
Out of curiosity, what would you be willing to pay for a dj1000 or dj2000?
Lots of them online in Japan, but by the time I buy it and ship it, you’re looking at $300+!
Idk if that’s worth it to you. I probably wouldn’t do it even though I think they’re kinda cool.

I’d pay that much for either one. But I know Japan likes to rape us on shipping. Can’t remember if the power supply is the same as ours or if I need some converter or not?? Just hit me up and we can probably work something out.
