I was thinking about buying a keyboard to go with my roland sp-606. Anyone ahve any suggestions? If so, post a link or something? I was thinking with something with lots of different choices to choose from to play on the keyboard itself. |

Something with at least 61 keys so you can go up and down the keyboard without using one of those little 'octave' buttons. If you are a keyboard player, make sure you get weighted keys, with after touch. My suggestion would be to look at synths from the 90s. Digital synth sounds from this era are back in fashion at the moment (especially clean digital bass), and with the effects in the 606 you can make many new sounds. Synths from the 90s are usually cheaper than the 80s ones too (they're not cool yet....yet!). |

Again, look at old synths from the 90s - anything with midi in and out and decent keys will do. I always reckon that a synth is better than a controller keyboard just because you get another sound-source for the same or even less money. I use a Yamaha V50 - quite rare but very powerful FM synth from the early 90s. It has awesome keys, a couple of assignable controllers and heaps of great sounds - especially when you put it through the SP! Any synth from that era would be the ticket... |

Also you could go with an EMU too.. take alook at the Alesis. They made some great ones like the QuandraSynth S4 |

You could never run out of sounds with a rackmount JV1080 and a few sound cards(any JV expansion card) and a midi controller to go with your SP606. |
