Yeah, it's really great. But way too expensive.

Very nice but unfortunately way over-priced, and the funny thing is there is a device on the market that will give you the same sort of sound for around £140, it's called the Volca Sample.

The reason that SP reissue will sound nice is the same reason the Volca sample sounds nice, that being a reduced digital sample playback rate being pumped through analogue filtering, and that's exactly what the Volca Sample is, it's a reduced bit-rate pumped through an analogue filter (Analouge Isolator).

Who knows, the current trend with with Korg releasing Wavestate, Opsix, and Modwave might even mean that they will release a fourth in that format, basically a keyboard version of the Volca Sample that can actually sample, giving a nice knobby interface as well, just like the others in that format.

It will probably happen because at least two of the releases in this format are based around sample synthesis, so it makes sense they'd release an actual knobby sampler in that format as well (it'll likely sell even better than the 404MKII if they do).

As long as it's at least 8-note polyphonic and each note is going through an analogue filter in a proper polyphonic way, it'll be the best selling device of its kind in decades because it'll sound like an early Emulator or Fairlight!

Yep ..it's definitely overpriced..original refurbished units are selling for around 7000 dollars in comparison too.

There's been a few machines touted over the years as being an alternative 'the poor man's SP 1200',Zoom Sampletrak etcetera but the only poor man's SP 1200 is of course the SP 1200 because if you actually choose to splash the dough for one you'll be very broke indeed hehe.. and especially when it comes to any repairs it'll inevitably need at some point.

If Behringer could make one cheaper, could sound like the real thing, and cost $1000, I’d save up for it!! But they’re making a LinnDrum instead. Never really owned or messed around with either, but at the end of the day, they ain’t the same drum machines.

Now as far as charging $4000 for a exact replica, isn’t even trying to compete with a used old school unit. So you either got excellent credit, or want to take a 2nd mortgage on your house to splash cash on it. But I think it’s safe to say most of us can’t buy it. And that’s fine too. Even if you bought it new or used, could you work magic on it? If not, there’s no point in buying it.

The Isla 2400 is around £1,500 here in the UK so not that much of a difference really all in all.

I think the machines are very dope but for the same price I'd get the MPC X personally...I'll definitely be pulling the trigger at some point soon on one for sure .
