I have as well. And it was $50 less than retail so I had to snag it. I don’t have a computer to get new effects, but if there’s plenty inside it won’t really matter.

MXR make the best FX pedals in my opinion, simple design,do what they do really well and rock solidly built too.

Not heard anything that comes even close to my original 1970s MXR Phase 90...I really like the 1980s Boss pedals too, have owned a bunch over the years but those MXR's are the kings of stompboxes and the ones I rate the highest.

I’ve never really tried MXR pedals. I’m not really brand loyal to one company or another. I’m more about the right effect/s for the right price. My list is Boss, Digitech, Line 6, Moog, Behringer and fairly soon Zoom.

I really need a bit crusher, a dedicated flange/phaser, some more distortion, (fuzz/overdrive/distortion, or a combo of the 3), and honestly anything that just makes what you feed it sound weird or cool.

I figure anything is game for fx, synths, SPs, Drum Machines. And the market is exploding with new pedals for just about anything you can think of. But I’m not trying to collect EVERY pedal. Not trying to put them in one huge floor pedal board either. Just connect the right one to the right device, and if it sounds ok, great. If it just makes it sound like crap, well, maybe something else might work.

Only MXR pedal I own is the Brown Acid fuzz. Thick sounding pedal best for bright guitars though. Fuzz is my thing, Fuzzface, Tonebender, Maestro etc. I got them in one form or another. I even built my own Marshall Supafuzz mk1 pedal.

That said, I go for Joyo and Dr. J pedals. They make amps as well and its priced cheap but built to last.

EHX always get me up, then they thrash me down, and then repeat. Their Ripped Speaker is pretty nasty though but their Grand Canyon sucks for multilayered guitar work, it literally sucks out your tone.

I was all exited about the EHX Mainframe Bit Crush pedal. Then I saw it used at a GuitarCenter. It was $120 used, but it was so tiny, and I thought to myself “EHX wants $200 for this new???” I’d rather save up $300 and get the Méris Ottobit Jr for a decent sized Bit Crusher. Kinda felt let down on that one, because I didn’t expect it to be so tiny.

I do want to pick up some Joyo pedals, because most are $100 and have the build quality of Boss. They’re all on Amazon too. So delivery would be ultra fast!

For your Joyo fix, I highly recommend http://cheaperpedals.com

They are like $20 below Amazon prices. The owner Elliot is a great guy and hooks me up with good stuff. If he don't have what you want, he'll send you something just like it and free shipping.

BOSS is dropping the original Waza fuzz circuit. I really wanted the Waza Tone Bender but its based off Jimmy Page's pedal back in 1968. I really wanted the original Tone Bender MK1, that is the most crankiest, illest fuzz pedal I ever heard. None like it since 1966! Though many spin-offs, they all sound like Big Muffs and Fuzzfaces and its downright injustice. Only thing close I got to the TBmk1 is the BUM Fuzz which I bought from Macaris in UK in 2019 and thats the same shop that invented the TBmk1 in an attempt to hack and modify the first Maestro Fuzz pedal to make it louder. Instead, they ushered in a new breed of fuzz that became a staple to most british acts of the 60s.

:D
I had the original Strycnine song made in 1966 but forgot the band who wrote it. I used to sing it all day too "I like the taste, of strycnine!" Just can't remember right now.

I picked up 2 Behringer pedals, the BOD400 Bass Overdrive pedal, and the VD400 vintage delay. I paid about $25 for each, and the delay came first. It’s dead simple, so it’s not as complex as my Moog MF-104m, but it sounds ok. Not sure the delay times as far as specs go. But I use it with my Behringer synths, drum machines, and it does the job.

The BOD400 came yesterday, and it boosts the bass very nicely. But any high frequencies like hi hats/cymbal crashes doesn’t do much but give you a piercing whine. But feed it a Tom or Bass drum kick, and you can instantly get more BEEF to that signal. I used it with my TD3MO and it really gave it some balls. I
was happy.

I still need to order some more pedals, mainly for fuzz/overdrive/distortion, but I could use some modulation like Flange/Phase, Octave, etc. But that’ll have to wait.
