for the psp, its true, but the 'official' software (uh...traxxpad? i think) it pretty lumpy. the interface is crazy tough to work with (i've found, i have it at home). i've seen other stuff that's 'homebrew' for the psp that loox better.

but i think of the DS a little like the kaossilator, you know?

i was checking on some the homebrew and it's pretty cool. what i don't understand is how do you keep those programs on your ds or a cartridge when the pc isn't on? also does this go hand in hand with making the ds wifi with that secret button?

I'm not sure if I know exactly what you guys are talking about, but I know that there's some illegal cartridge you can buy that fits into the Gameboy Advance slot, and allows you to essentially have Windows on the DS. I see lots of kids with them, they usually use them to load up 1000s of old ROMs from the 80s and 90s and then play them with MAME. (Gamer geek babble, I know, essentially it lets you play old video games through an emulation program)

You can get ones for the DS slot now as well

popular brands:

R4,
supercard.

google is your friend - ebay will ban people trying to sell them, but there are plenty of online sites you cna buy them from

DS-10 is one of those absolutely amazing developments I can't quite believe will make it to commercial release.. Especially if it has the wifi syncing. . . .2 DS's plus a DJ mixer and you're in bizness

Of course its not going to replace other gear for quality of sound, but it will be great fun and probably at least usable in low-fi production

Yeah I seen this before. Can't wait to get my hands on one. I think that shit would be tight as hell playing with on my Ds.

jspliffs your icon is like a conundrum: games or women HMmmm....

i can't wait. i was playing around with electroplankton the other night and i tinks it's just too limited. if i'm right then ds-10 well be a real leap forward.

Definitely. I think Electroplankton was meant more for tripped out entertainment then actual music making. Although it can be a powerful tool.
