These all look very cool. Personally I gotta have sampling ability to create my own sounds. Nice to see so many new/retro boxes appearing! You simply cannot deny the pleasure in working with dedicated non PC based hardware!

I saw this as well. It's supposed to only be under $200 as well, so for that price it may be well worth pairing with an sp. Won't know for sure until it's released, however.

sorry for the OT Om_Audio, but:
Features
•Plays and records stereo samples using easily accessible and reliable SD cards
•Balanced 6.3mm (.-inch) inputs let you capture audio from a wide variety of sources
•Built-in stereo microphone lets you capture sounds on-the-fly

so it has sampling features...

I actually spotted this at my local pawn shop and they had a XR20 as well. I know it’s noisy, I know it’s limited, and I know it’s kinda a joke. But I think I’m gonna put the sucker on layaway. I’ve got cheap pedals to try to polish that turd. I’ve noticed the Akai Tom Cats are going up in price on Reverb. So maybe at some point the RythmWolf will as well.

But as for the XR20, I think it can cover some sounds the RW just can’t. It will be cleaner sounding, has some built in FX in there already, and is probably more fun to make beats on.

cool
i had once the xr20 back in 2009, it sounded well and also had 3 tracks for midi intent, that wasn't bad at thos times:

let us know what you think about the RW when you have time, please

Post subject:  Re: Akai Rhythm Wolf

It will be awhile. I’d have to do both drum machines on layaway, but I’m working mad ot so hopefully not too long. I understand the RW gets ripped on a lot for being noisy, but I would go get a Boss noise surpressor pedal if I really needed to.

Post subject:  Re: Akai Rhythm Wolf

They said it was $150 for the RW, and $170 for the XR20. I’m plucking my cash down on both!

Post subject:  Re: Akai Rhythm Wolf

So I never ended up with either one, but I just spotted a XR20 for $75! I’m gonna have to leave work early, but I’ll definitely put some cash down if it’s still there! As for the RW, meh, who even cares? I’d rather get a SP404 mk2
Right about now.
