Nice, the library is looking slim so I've been thinking of making a drum kit for people out of my rare breaks collection.

i'll work on it this season; maybe a few presets and then some other stuff. it is really considered a brass and string synth.

need some help here:

so, i got it and it's a little on the rough side, so
1. where can i get a DIN chord? this is the chord that connects the controller to the synth and the dude failed to include this? is this something I could find in a computer parts store?

2. does anybody have any tips on the safest way to clean electronics, inside and out? i've done this sorta thing before but this is my first time to open up something that was analog and NOT broken. can i use rubbing alcohol to clean it, if not, then what solvent would you clean it with and can i use compressed air on the insides?

but it does work and the sounds cut through wonderfully.

thanks drewzle!
i know i will need to repair the aftertouch and i've seen instructions for that. to do that i have to open it up anyway. i'm pretty keen on tech ops so it should be fine.
i had a DIN cable 5 years ago cuz i had one of those early korg d drum machines but i thought i'll never use this ish, oh well.

i have been looking for this 6pin din that connects the pg with the synth and i couldn't find it anywhere so email roland and they were very helpful and told me the only place they knew where i could still buy this cord. i emailed the cord company and they tell me they stopped making these cords in march and thats just tough luck for me. i can't find this cord anywhere

Man that sucks  I hope you'll still be able to get a cord somewhere.
None on eBay?

The jx-8p with the pg800 is really cool, I've seen some movies on youtube that were very impressive!

As for the cords, aren't there online web sites that still sell some stock? If not, you might have to look for a adapter kind of thing for normal MIDI cables to DIN or something. Not quite sure exactly what kind of cables you'd need then, but perhaps adapters can be a solution somehow.

Good luck on finding this man,

Is this the type of cable you are looking for? This one is 6-pin cable for a Commodore 64 disk drive and is 43.5" long, though it may work for your synth. I could give this one to you if you want.

YES! that really looks like it. i'm 95% sure that's it.
i was really starting to lose hope.
i looked for old computer cables at the second-hand store yesterday but couldn't find anything. if you can part with it i would definately grab it from you. if it's fine then i'll send you some $ for shipping and your trouble (in a week or two, though).
it's a little too short for the setup intended by roland but it will easily fit on the oppisite side. this is great. thank you lopar!

you still game lopar?
if not that's cool, just knowing that i can get a c64 cable is that more knowledge for a fool.
