does anyone else use this? its like a synthesizer/sequencer using the gameboy sound chip so you get 8bit gameboy sounds. its pretty sick

I've seen people playing some bleep-bloop music live, and they were using GameBoys onstage. Is that the same thing you're talking about? I've always wondered what exactly they were doing.

i'm gonna buy it some day. it is 4.bit by the way:P but i think i will get one of nanoloop 1.3 thats using the gamyboy 4bit chip. and nanoloop 2.2 that's more smooth synth sounds.

think ill go for the 2.2 first. after checking out this video http://www.youtube.com/v/5hmT2rpvXgc&rel=1

damn, i haven't heard of this in 10 years. surprised by how expensive it is, but then again it's a custom piece of software so it's not fair to compare it mario bros for $30.
anyone looking for an alternative 8bit music maker can find a basic sequencer on the GameBoy Camera, you could create simple loops with a number of different 8bit pop, beeps and screeches.
any DS owners should also look into 'Electroplankton' a Japanese game with a number of ambient music making programs with suitably colourful aquatic graphics - see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGijlcP-_AQ for an example of it hooked up to the Korg Pad 3.
The creator of Electroplanton is also the inventor of the Tenori-On

elektroplankton is sorta fun. you can't program music pre se but it's possible to get some nice little loops and pad sounds. I would LoVe to play with a tenori-on.

I have LSDJ and I really love it, even though I'd say I've grown out of my Gameboy Music phase, I still use it now and again, I'm constantly surprised by how powerful it is. But damn is it hard to learn!

The guy on the site sells rom downloads of LSDJ for like a penny. And if you want to use a GB you have to buy a blank cartridge. I found some guy on ebay selling them for $50 and if u have a LSDJ subscription (paid the $.01 on the lsdj site) He'll put LSDJ on the cartridge with LSDJ labels n' shit. The same dude also sells a GB Color Modified for LSDJ or Nanoloops, EXt. for like $50.

Here's a Bittorrent download of Nanoloops 1.3, 2.1, and Nanovoice. Now I just got to learn how to use them.

to be honest, i don't understand how to use this on my dslite but that's cool of ya. i know there is a special cartridge that is purchasable but that's as far as i've gotten with it.

i really wish i could play crystal chronicles with anyone throughout the world but it's only setup for the close style gaming. can i change that?

I don't think those 8-bit sequencers work on a DS, u gotta buy an old gameboy, or at least an Advance.

They work on DS. The Nanoloops 2.1 for GBA works on DS Lite (Slot 2) for sure, But I wouldn't use Nanoloops 1.3 or LSDJ on DS, you gotta keep it gritty with the classic sounds.
