Post subject:  Question about the SP202's media card

Hi there, I recently purchased an SP-202 in order to play sequenced samples of drumming from the Drumkit From Hell for my digital metal band. This being stated, I have a question about the memorycard that's gonna be coming in the mail soon, Roland's S4M-5 Smartmedia card.

Is there any way for me to stick my S4M-5 into my very-modern laptop in order to write my pre-written beats onto it? It would be great if I could do the following:

1. Write "Beat1" (bpm 190) onto the card, write "Fill1" & "Fill2" to the card too.
2. Assign beat1 to bank 1, assign fill1 to bank 2, assign fill2 to bank 3.
3. Play beat1 for the verse, switch to bank2 in order to use fill1, go back to bank1 for chorus.

And yadda, yadda, yadda. Also, is there a way I can choose if these written samples are in Hi-Fi, Standard, or Lo-Fi?

Sorry if these answers lay in S4M-5's manual, I'm just mega excited for my new piece of gear. :D

As far as interfacing the Sp-202 memory card with a computer, it's not possible. The memory card is used primarily as a means for maxing out sample time, to give you banks C and D, and for storage of banks C and D. The 4mb 5 volt SM cards are ancient. You will not be able to build or assign kits on it.

Put simply, banks C and D run off your memory card and functionality is quite limited. You cannot loop or use effects on banks C and D and only one pad at a time will operate.
